PAW has established a strategic partnership with AKC Companion Animal Recovery (AKC CAR), a non-profit official affiliate of the American Kennel Club, established in 1884. AKC CAR is the nation’s largest non-profit service dedicated to providing recovery of uniquely identified animals. Owners’ identity information is maintained in AKC CAR’s database and linked to a companion animal’s unique identity number in the form of a tattoo, microchip, and/or embossed AKC CAR tag. AKC CAR staffs a 24/7/365 hotline in its Raleigh, North Carolina headquarters for pet recovery. AKC CAR has over 4 million registered pets. Since 1995, AKC CAR has been involved in over 350,000 recoveries.
