Positioning Animals Worldwide (PAW) was formed in 2008 by a team of experienced and passionate pet owners with the collective mission to reduce the number of lost pets by enabling reliable and timely tracking to locate and recover lost pets. Through a partnership with American Kennel Club Companion Animal Recovery (AKC CAR), PAW's flagship product, SpotLight GPS Pet Locator, is the only tracking system that bundles GPS technology with the recovery assistance of AKC CAR's team of recovery experts. Management Team

PAW has assembled a dynamic and successful team of business leaders, entrepreneurs and…dog lovers.

Chris Newton, Chief Executive Officer

As Chairman and CEO of PAW, Inc., Chris heads the PAW team in creating the vision and executing plans to ensure that PAW’s products and services become the leader in the market while reducing the number of lost pets. Prior to PAW, Chris led venture-backed Intervolve as Chairman and CEO through 6 years of high growth in the web and mobile (wireless) supply chain industry.

Chris is an award-winning CEO with deep entrepreneurial and early stage high growth experience. He continuously creates winning teams and companies through his leadership, communication, and motivation skills.

Prior to Intervolve, Chris co-invented a bio-mechanical oily water separator to be used in the maritime industry to prevent water pollution from bilge water. His invention is integral to the shipping industry and is used on many ships including cruise ships. Chris contributes his expertise at local universities by guest lecturing, business coaching, and business plan judging. Chris earned his MBA from North Carolina State University with a concentration in Technology Commercialization and BS in Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.  

David Tomick, Chief Financial Officer

Dave is responsible for all financial aspects of PAW, Inc.

He is recognized as an accomplished professional for his financial acumen with proven success in equity sourcing, debt management, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and investor relations in both entrepreneurial and public environments.

Dave was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at SpectraSite, Inc., a cellular tower company. Prior to SpectraSite, he was Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Masada Security, Inc. He has also held various senior corporate banker positions at First Chicago Corporation.

Dave is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at North Carolina State College of Management serving as Instructor of Finance and Accounting for Entrepreneurs. He has an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA from Denison University.

Lewis Sheats, Vice President of Operations

Lewis brings his extensive background in new venture planning, concept consulting, logistics, opportunity identification and analysis, manufacturing organization, marketing, and strategic planning to his integral role as PAW’s VP of Operations.

His leadership has expertly guided the launch and development of four different companies over 12 years from concept to profitability. Interstate Logistics, where he was CEO and Chairman and is still a Strategic Advisor, A Sweet Reminder, where he was Vice President and founder, and Rush Couriers, where he was CEO, reflect the depth and breadth of Lewis’ background and expertise. He also has experience in the medical and management consulting industries through his tenure at Rex Hospital, and was a Partner and Vice President at QAS, Inc.

Currently Lewis helps to prepare the next generation of entrepreneurs as an Adjunct Lecturer for the Entrepreneurship Education initiative in the North Carolina State College of Management. Lewis has a BS in Business Administration from North Carolina State University and an MBA from the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business at Campbell University.

Kemp Qiu, Product Director

Kemp is responsible for product management and development at PAW. He has over eight years experience in high tech product development and management, including international trade and development programs, as well as consultancies in China, Germany, Japan, India, South Korea and Taiwan.

Prior to joining PAW, Kemp helped grow several early stage companies. He also founded 7Bluestone Group, which provides business consulting services to the Asian market.

Kemp has an MBA from the University of North Carolina and an MS in computer engineering from North Carolina State University. His research work in nanotechnology was widely reported in reputed publications as the New York Times and MIT Technology Review. He is also an author of many research papers and holds four patents in the area of nanotechnology-based security and medical systems.
